5 months

Grant is 5 months old today. You can see how much he's grown here. Doesn't he look like a big boy in his Star Wars tshirt and jean shorts? Grant tried oat cereal today. He seemed to like that a little better than the rice cereal. I bought some peas and sweet potatoes to try some time soon. He'll probably like those better than that nasty looking cereal.
What a cute future Flyer!

How you doin?

Today at Target I was looking at something in the baby aisle when I glanced at Grant. He was looking up (but not at me) smiling away. He was smiling at the giant photos of babies that are above the products. Too cute!

More Firsts

This past weekend Troy was in a wedding in Cleveland with an adults only reception, so Grant got to stay home. G and PawPaw came to watch him. Troy had been away from Grant overnight a few times, but this was my first time. It was hard to leave and it was very weird to not have him around and care for him all the time. We all made it through ok :)

The other first of the weekend was that Grant tried solid food for the first time! He had his first experience with rice cereal. As you can see, he's not too sure about it. The third picture is from tonight, and he still wasn't crazy about the cereal, but he actually ate some instead of spitting it all out. We're making progress!

And this picture is just because he's cute!

Day of Firsts

Troy was off today so he brought Grant to the library for his first storytime. Yay! Grant smiled during Skinnamarink, couldn't take his eyes off Miss Jo and loved watching the other babies and kids in the room. By the end he was even talking and singing along to the songs. Right as babytime started, Troy said he smelled something. I have a bad cold and didn't smell anything so I tried to do a diaper check. Sure enough, he had a messy diaper. Since babytime had just started I didn't want to take him out so we took our chances. I should say I took my chance since I was the one holding him. My luck ran out and I ended up with some mess on my pants. That brings us to the next first: first time getting a diaper changed in a public restroom. And Troy was the lucky one to do it. I went to the lobby to wait for them and could hear Grant screaming...

And the last first is: first time in the high chair! We're going to try rice cereal in the next week or so and we thought we'd give him a test run in the chair while we ate. He likes sitting up like a big boy and played with his toys the entire time we ate. Stay tuned for the "first food" pictures coming soon. :)
