Staycation: State Fair

Grant loved loved loved the model train exhibit. His face just lit up when he was in there. To get him to leave we told him we'd come back on our way out and he did not forget we said that.

These little goats kept brushing up against Leah's feet and she loved it.

Grant wanted to ride some rides.  He said he had fun, but I'm not sure he cracked a smile.

Isn't this the face of a kid having fun?

Leah clapping for the trains.

Staycation: Baseball

We took Grant to a noon baseball game. He spent most of the time we were in our seats focused on our frozen lemonade. But he had fun.

We left our seats and walked around for a while, then sat in some random seats.  That's when Grant started to get in to the game and notice the scoreboard and the mascots and basically everything about the game that didn't involve frozen lemonade.

Staycation: COSI

We took the kids to COSI to see the dinosaur exhibit. We figured Grant would love it since he's so in to dinosaurs...

and this is pretty much how he was the entire time.  He did not like the noises the dinos were making.

This was one of two things he really liked.  He could have stayed there for a long time.

Leah was not impressed.

This was the other thing that Grant really liked.  It was a video game where you were the dinosaur and you had to find food and water and defend yourself.

This picture cracks me up.  I love how Leah is looking at Grant like, "What are we doing?"

Enjoying the little kid space.

Staycation: Birthday and Zoo

We've been on vacation all week, just hanging out and doing stuff around town.

Grant went to a birthday party at a bounce place. For some reason about half way through he got scared (even though he'd been down the slide a ton) and would only go down with this little girl.  The other parents thought it was funny that he had to have the right motivation. :)

We went to the zoo early one morning before it got too hot and unbearable.  The zoo is wonderful when it's not crowded!

Both tigers were right in front of the glass.  Leah was pretty excited.

Leah loved this costumed manatee.  She was laughing and squealing and kept grabbing the flipper and pointing at the mouth.  I think she wanted it to come home with us.

Baby Steps

Leah took her first steps tonight!  She went between Daddy and Mommy trying to get a toy.  Good job Leah!

11 Months

Hard to believe Leah is 11 months old! She is standing on her own, loves to clap and wave and take brother's toys. She is so close to walking but just hasn't done it yet.  She's pretty much eating all table food and hardly any baby food and she loves it.  She is still just about the happiest baby ever.
