Shades, Cows and Swimmin'

We went to Napoleon this past weekend. The big exciting fair was going on so we took Grant to see the animals. He loved the bunnies and eventually warmed up to the cows. He saw cousins, a St. Bernard, and went swimming. He even slept in the car on the way home!

Baby Signing Time

I don't think I've mentioned before how much Grant loves to watch Baby Signing Time. He sits in front of it smiling and mesmerized. He'll walk up to the tv and sign and say baby when he wants to watch it (which is frequently). We bought a portable dvd player to take on vacation for in the car. I had checked out a bunch of dvds from the library, but forgot all of them but the Baby Signing Time ones that I had already packed. Once he figured out he could watch BST in the car he asked for baby all the time. For a few days once we got home, every time we got in the car said baby.

I was just in the kitchen cleaning up and Grant was in the living room being very quiet. I was just about to go in and check on him when I heard BST starting up. I went in there and Grant was on the couch with the remote and a big smile. Somehow he had pressed the right button to start up BST. I guess if he's that smart* then he gets to watch it for a while. And I think we'll need to make sure the remote is put up when we're done!

*I will add we have a fancy remote that with the press of one button turns on the tv and dvd player at the same time. So he didn't press multiple buttons to do this. But still, there are lots of buttons on this remote, so it is amazing he pressed the right one and had the patience for it all to turn on without pressing more buttons.

18 months- updated

I'm feeling a little brain dead right now as Grant just sobbed for the past 2 hours. He finally fell asleep. He better sleep all night too. Grant is really becoming a little boy. He is saying new words frequently, he gets so excited when he sees a bus on the street, he loves waving bye bye to our neighbors, he's getting more generous with blowing kisses, and he has discovered some big boy books on the bookshelf. This week we've read I'm Dirty many many times and at the end he always wants it "agee." He also is really into Good Night Gorilla and will sit through all of Kittycat Lullabye, asking for it again, when he used to only want the first few pages read. Tomorrow morning he has his check up. I'm really interested to see how tall he is and how much he weighs.

Grant is 34 inches long and weighs 25 pounds 3 ounces.

This is the best Grant has ever posed for a quilt shot since he became mobile. He thought he was so cool laying there for us.

This may look like he's rolling over mid shot, but he's really not. This is what he did when we told him to lay down on the quilt. We were shocked he actually listened!

Vacation: Part 6- Hocking Hills

We made a quick stop in Hocking Hills on the way home. It was very busy and we weren't prepared for a long trek, but we walked around a little bit so Grant could stretch his legs and look around.
