No No!

Grant has mastered the army crawl and he loves going all over the place. Sometimes he gets so excited to be moving and going somewhere he just kicks and doesn't end up moving anywhere. He especially loves the outlets, power cords and Miles. Now I'm not too worried about Miles, but why does Grant have to go right for the things he can't have? We've had to pull out our stern parent voices and the repeated no no. Surprisingly he listens a good deal of the time. I know it won't last, but it surprises me everytime. He'll look at the outlet/cord, think about it, and usually after 2 or 3 no-no's, he turns around and goes the other way. What a smart boy!

Grant doesn't exactly like to stay on his back anymore, making picture taking a little bit of a challenge...

I put him on his back on the blanket, but by the time I stood up and took the picture he was on his stomach.

Daddy has better luck getting him to stay on his back.

Day at the Zoo

How cool is this?!?! The first pictures are of a baby snow leopard, the second cat is a baby clouded leopard. Troy has a friend who knows someone that works behind the scenes with animals not out on display and that they take out in the community and on tv. Thanks Molly, it was so neat!

Big Day

Grant's first tooth finally broke through today! I looked this morning and could tell it looked different. He had his 6 month check up today and the doctor confirmed it was through. This afternoon I could actually feel it. We'll see when the second one comes in. As for the check up, Grant is long (29 in- 95th percentile) and skinny (15 lb 10oz- 25th percentile). No surprise there. A few shots later we were out the door.

Grant has really made progress on the scooting front the last few days. He gets up on his knees and elbows and rocks back and forth (sometimes landing in a face plant when he gets rocking fast). If he sees something he wants (especially the remote) he'll work really hard and scoot to get it. He'd be crawling if he'd figure out he has to move his arms. He has the leg movement down. Tonight I had an empty Lays Stax can that I was beating on to make noise when it rolled away. Grant really wanted it; he scooted all the way across the rug on to the floor. It was so funny- everytime he'd get to it and touch it, it would move just a little farther away. He made it almost half way around the room trying to get that thing. Of course since it was rolling around the floor Miles thought he had to get in on the action and started chasing it. When Miles went after it Grant looked at me like "why is that cat going after my toy?" By the time we realized we should have the video camera out Grant was starting to get frustrated and mad. Next time we'll be on the ball.
