Grant's top 5

Lately Grant has been making the rounds visiting the libraries and my coworkers. It's interesting no matter which library we are in (or even department of the library for that matter) I hear the same 5 comments about Grant. They are:

1. Look at those long/beautiful eyelashes!
2. He looks like such a serious baby/ He looks like a thinker.
3. He sure is focused on/staring intensely at that cow. (See zoo picture below for the cow)
4. He has good color.
5. Look at him trying to stay awake/fight going to sleep.

I have to agree with all of them, though I'm not sure he's really a very serious baby. Everyone just sees him when he's out of it after being asleep from the ride in the car.

Finally Sleeping...for now!

Grant is finally taking a nap so I have some time to update the blog. Here a few pictures from the past week.
First trip to the zoo. It was pretty warm and Grant didn't like the enclosed tiger viewing area. He cried both times we went in it. One lady suggested that maybe he didn't like the smell in there. It really did smell so maybe she's right.

Practicing the Heisman pose?

This little bear came with the thermometer we bought over the weeknd. Grant seems to like it!

2 Month Check-up

Grant went to the dr today for his 2 month check up. He weighs 10 lb 3 oz and is 23 1/2 inches long. Of course Troy disagrees with this measurement (again) so we'll see what his "official" length is when Dad gives it a try. Poor Grant had to get 5 shots and we saw the first tears roll down his cheeks. So sad! Other than that he was a very good boy. We saw a different dr today since ours was out and we liked her a lot. We're going to see her again at the next appointment in 2 months.

Grant's Gator

Troy's cousin Alison sent us this robe and towel set this week. How funny does Grant look in that little robe?

Oh!

Yesterday morning Grant woke up earlier than usual, wide awake and ready to eat. After I fed him he was still awake- smiling and kicking and waving his arms. I wanted to go back to bed so I thought if I turned the light off he'd get sleepy again. As soon as I turned the light off Grant said "Oh!" in his cute little voice. Off course he didn't go back to sleep for quite a while, but at least he's super cute!

Miles

Many of you have asked how Miles is doing. He's doing pretty well, but he's starting to show us he's a little jealous. He has been knocking cups and glasses, empty and full, off the end table. So far he's only broken one glass, but it's still really annoying cleaning up spills all the time. I know, it could be worse, and hopefully this is as bad as he gets.

I took these pictures while we were giving Grant a bath the other day. When I looked back at them I thought it was funny to see the progression of Miles watching Grant.
